The Annual Multi-Municipal Shredding Event held on April 9, 2016, was a great success. Over 400 people attended the event and over 16,000 pounds of paper was shredded in addition to many electronics being dropped off.

VALLEY TOWNSHIP HONORS ITS VOLUNTEERS AT ANNUAL LUNCHEON AND NAMES THE 2016 “VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR”
On Saturday, April 23, 2016, Valley Township honored its volunteers at their annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. Over 55 volunteers were present and were recognized for helping with many of the Township’s community events such as: annual Easter Egg Hunt, Multi-Municipal Shredding Event, Community Clean Up Day, Valley Day, Townwatch, and the Children’s Holiday Party. The Board also presented their fifth Volunteer of the Year Award to Chief Joseph Friel. Chief Friel is present at all community activities as well as donating his time to the annual “Shop with a Cop” and coordinating Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for those in need. Chief Friel was described as being “the Ambassador of Valley Township”. Past recipients of the Volunteer of the Year award are: Abby Garzia (2012); Joe Sciandra (2013); Denise Pugh (2014); Patrice Proctor (2015); and Karen Chandler was named as an “Honorary Recipient” in 2015.
A public meeting for the Route 30 Multimodal Transportation Study will be held on May 16, 2016 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Coatesville Moose - 1910 Ballroom (1200 Airport Road, Coatesville, PA 19320). Presentations at 5pm and 6pm will provide an overview of the Draft Report, which is the focus for this final public meeting for the project. (more info)
The Lanchester Landfill is now accepting TV’s, computers and other electronics and appliances at the landfill for FREE until December 2016. (details)
TELEVISION COLLECTION PROGRAM
CRT televisions are no longer permitted to be dumped in the landfill. Valley Township will pick up these items for a fee as noted below.
Collection will be once per month on the last Monday of each month. Please note, we cannot collect console-type CRT televisions. (click here for more info and collection form)
Regal movie tickets are available for sale to residents and non-residents for $9 each. CASH SALES ONLY. Tickets may be purchased at the Township Office during normal business hours. Tickets are for unrestricted access to any movie at any Regal, United Artist, or Edwards theatres. Surcharge fees at the theatre apply to all 3D, IMAX, large format, RPX and Real D Films. Proceeds benefit the Valley Township Parks & Recreation Authority programs. CLICK HERE for additional information.
