Valley Township was formed in 1852 by a decree of the court. It was composed of a considerable slice off the south end of West Caln and a small slice off the south end of West Brandywine. It is half its original size having been reduced in size by the incorporation of the Borough of Coatesville in 1867 and in 1868 by the creation of the Township of Caln.
Two PUC Hearings remain: Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at the Parkesburg Borough Municipal Building; one at 1:00 pm and one at 7:00 pm.
Scroll down to see more information. PLEASE TRY TO ATTEND ONE OF THESE HEARINGS TO HELP FIGHT AGAINST THIS INCREASE! Over 400 people attended the first two hearings on August 24 (Coatesville City Hall & Rainbow Elementary School) to voice their concerns and objections to the proposed wastewater rate increase. Valley Township Board of Supervisors appreciates those who were able to attend one or both of the hearings and hopes that if you could not attend one of the first two hearings that one of the remaining two will fit your schedule. It is very important to make your concerns known to the Public Utility Commission who will vote on the rate increase or will approve what the increase rate amount will be.This year's Valley Day, held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Westwood Fire Company, was a huge success with a record crowd in attendance. The day could not have been the success that it was without the kind generosity and support from the many sponsors and contributors. Please take a look at the Valley Day sponsors on the attached link and be sure to patronize these businesses.
Water/Sewer/Trash bills for the 2nd Quarter of 2010 were mailed on Tuesday, July 6. If you did not receive your bill, contact the Township Office at 610 384-5751. Payments can be made via U.S. Mail or in person at the Township Office (890 West Lincoln Highway, Coatesville), between the hours of 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. A fee of $30 is assessed for a returned check.
Pennsylvanian American Water Company (PAWC) has filed with the PUC a proposed rate increase. The last two PUC Hearings will be held on Tuesday, August 31, at the Parkesburg Borough Municipal Building (315 West First Avenue, Building 1, Parkesburg). The first hearing that day will be held at 1:00 pm and the second at 7:00 pm. Under the proposed new rates, the typical residential customer's wastewater bill would increase from $27.43 per month to $90.26. To find out more information on this proposed rate increase and how it will affect Valley residents and what you can do to help fight this increase, please read the attached letter.

Valley Township's EIT and LST collector is Central Tax Bureau (CENTAX). Our EIT is 0.5%. The other 0.5% that is withheld is for the Coatesville Area School District and this tax is collected by Berkheimer. Therefore, your employer should be deducting a total of 1% for earned income tax from your paycheck. Please check your paycheck stub to make sure you are only having 1% deducted. If you are having more than 1% taken out, your employer may mistakenly be deducting the City of Coatesville EIT rate, which is higher.
